Soyana uses in its milk alternatives only high-oleic organic sunflower oil because, like olive oil, it contains a high proportion of monounsaturated fatty acids (75%), which are stable when heated. In contrast, the polyunsaturated fatty acids in regular (organic) sunflower oil (60%) break down when heated and become free radicals in the bloodstream.
